Meet SEED agent Heather Witbeck, read on to learn more about this Travis Heights extraordinaire. From her taste in design to her favorite parts about Austin, get to know our real estate rockstar.
If you had to choose what would be your favorite Austin neighborhood? Travis Heights – in the middle of it all and full of character. I love the diversity in the people. A great neighborhood to walk your dog and next to South Congress with its shops and restaurants.
What’s your favorite date night? Cooking at home, wine and no shoes! (I think we can all get behind this one)
How do you choose to relax? I play tennis at the South Austin Tennis Center every weekend that it is nice out. Tennis has been a lifelong sport of mine. When I am on the court I am focused on playing well and winning. One of the few places to leave work and other distractions behind.
Name one “thing” you can’t live without? My dogs, Izzy and Marley. They are 13 years old and the best part of my day is spending time with them.
When did you know Austin was “home”? We rented for a few years. When we bought our home in Travis Heights it felt like our town.
Go to bar/restaurant and why? Oh gosh, we are blessed with so many in Austin. Clark’s is a favorite for oysters, clam chowder and the burger. UCHI has the absolute best service and amazing food – it is impossible not to have the perfect evening there. And tacos…. Torchy’s of course!
Describe your personal home interior style? Eclectic, mountain chic. I like to mix wood, stone, and industrial elements.
What’s your favorite current trend in house design? I am loving black cabinets in the kitchen juxtaposed with white walls and bold pops of color in accessories. Black and white is timeless and you can change you accessory colors anytime without a huge cost. Plus, it will be great for resale.
How would you describe your taste in homes? I love a mix of modern and craftsman. Light is the most important aspect of a home. Lots of light.
What’s your favorite thing about your home? We have a floating, wood staircase. It is a bit industrial looking with metal railings. It plays well with the stone fireplace and hardwood floors on the main floor and makes a nice transition to the second floor. We bought the house because of it.
