Welcome to Barton Creek

An exclusive resort community at the front door of Texas Hill Country

It's a bit of a misnomer to consider Barton Creek a master-planned community. Yes, the small town of 3,000 residents centers around golf—including some of the state's best courses—but more than a place to live, it's a place to retreat.

Barton Creek's location provides convenient access to all of the trappings of Austin's most vital districts; downtown Austin and the state capitol building are a 15-minute drive away. The University of Texas is a few minutes farther.

Austin-Bergstrom Airport is a 20-minute jaunt across South Austin, placing Barton Creek a few minutes from some of the best shopping, dining, and entertainment Austin has to offer.

Even with that proximity, Barton Creek can feel other-worldly. Over 20 residential neighborhoods, each possessing their own set of luxuries, offer new residents plenty of lifestyle choices. And, with the Texas Hill County at your doorstep, Barton Creek is a tranquil oasis amidst Austin's ever-expanding footprint.

What to Love

  • Unparalleled golfing
  • Close to both urban excitement and hill country escapes
  • Diverse and plentiful housing choices
  • Gorgeous setting amongst gently rolling hills and lush, mature landscape

People & Lifestyle

Aided by the resort country club lifestyle, it's no surprise the Barton Creek ranks as one of the top retirement spots in Texas. But its proximity to great schools, fantastic dining, and several non-golfing outdoor pursuits make it a prime location to raise a family.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

While the adjacent areas of Downtown and South Austin provide great food and entertainment, Barton Creek has a few local favorites to call its own.

The Grove Wine Bar + Kitchen is a nearby New American eatery with a great menu and low key vibe. For authentic Texas barbeque, County Line is a can't-miss destination. The Omni Hotel and Resort also features a great lineup of restaurants including the Blind Salamander, Texas Spice, and Bob's Steak and Chophouse.

Things to Do

We'll give it to you straight. If you love golf—championship courses, country club communities, and pristine park-like environments—Barton Creek is your mecca.

The town features three championship courses designed by Tom Fazio (Fazio Canyons and Fazio Foothills), Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore (Coore Crenshaw). The two Fazio tracks are "Top 100 Courses You Can Play" according to Golf Magazine. Golf Digest ranks the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa among the "Best Golf Resorts in North America."
