The holiday season is one of the most festive times of the year in Austin, and that’s saying a lot. We might not have snow, but it’s still a winter wonderland all around town.

Light Displays
December 10th – 23rd
For 55 years Zilker Park has been illuminated during the holidays by the spectacular Trail of Lights displays. Walk through the exhibit to see millions of lights all in one place. You can also join the Fun Run on December 7th.
December 1st – January 1st
Spinning under the glittering lights of the 155-foot tall manmade tree has been a holiday tradition in Austin since 1967.
Mozart’s Coffee Holiday Light Show
November 21st – January 5th
Every holiday season Mozart’s Coffee transforms their deck overlooking Town Lake with more than 1 million lights. Get a mug of hot coco and enjoy the lights, sights and holiday tunes.
Lake Travis Holiday Boat Parade
December 7th
If you missed the Chuy’s holiday parade you can still enjoy seeing festive floats – that actually float. Dozens of boat owners decorate their vessels and cruise an aquatic parade route. Don’t forget to bring an unwrapped toy for the Brown Santa toy drive.
Holiday Shopping
December 7th and 8th
Find the most unique gifts for art lovers on your shopping list at the Cherrywood Art Fair. In addition to finding handcrafted goods, it’s a great way to inspire young artists in your family.
December 13th – 23rd
The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is the shopping event of the season. It features fine art, dozens of vendors and there’s also an amazing lineup of musicians that will be entertaining shoppers.
December 7th
Experience a little bit of Texas’ German heritage at the German Christmas Market. You can buy authentic German handmade goods, delicious Christmas treats and enjoy entertainment for adults and kids.

Austin Steam Train North Pole Flyer
November 18 – December 8th
Get ready for a Polar Express experience in Central Texas. Travelers will ride along with Santa Claus for a fun-filled trip with cookies, stories and sing-alongs.

This classic Christmas tale is brought to life by the talented troupe at the ZACH Theatre. Bonus: The show runs after Christmas so you can keep the holiday spirit going after the presents are opened.
The Nutcracker Ballet at the Long Center
December 7th – 23rd
Every year Ballet Austin puts on a beautiful performance of The Nutcracker. It’s a family-friendly event that will amaze people of all ages.
Holiday Sing-Along at the Capitol
December 7th
People from all over Austin come together on the steps of the capitol for one of the largest Christmas sing-alongs in the state. You’ll also enjoy the official tree lighting during the event.
Santaland Diaries at Zach Theatre
November 29th – December 29th
Santaland Diaries is a fantastically hilarious holiday show for adults that has become a cult classic.
