WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD DID YOU CHOOSE IN AUSTIN AND WHY?
I wanted to be as close to “East-Central” Austin as possible. and as close to Town Lake as possible. I ended up buying in 78702, and I love it. The new, eclectic bars and eateries on the East Side, urban farms, plus biking-distance to Town Lake trail for Blues on the Green and other Zilker events were the deciding factors for me.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER BEEN TO AUSTIN?
East Austin is full of both old houses and new construction. It is eclectic, colorful, and always changing. There is always something new to check out.
WHAT ARE SOME THINGS ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD THAT YOU LEARNED ONLY AFTER LIVING THERE FOR A WHILE?
It’s possible to navigate around without getting on highway 35, which is awesome. I can be pretty much anywhere I need to be within 10 minutes in any direction. No commuting! It’s also very easy to get around on a bike with bike lanes that go directly to downtown.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?
Proximity to cool things in Austin! Plus, all the people on bicycles on Pleasant Valley- I feel there’s safety in numbers, and car drivers have to learn to be aware.

Scraped off the popcorn ceiling texture (it’s worth it, people!).

Old favorite: The Hightower on E. 7th St. New favorite: Nasha, also on E. 7th.

I was referred by my best friend. Annette and her broker at SEED, Tammy, met me at a coffee shop to discuss my goals and interests in finding a house. We instantly connected and I knew I was in good hands. I was sold.
